The past 2 weeks have been a blur at Progressclaim.com Towers with sponsorship of some fantastic events, from the Viewpoint Customer Summit to the Construction 100 Workshops in both Brisbane and Melbourne.
The Viewpoint Annual Customer Summit was dedicated to education, collaboration, and partnership development. Being held at the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa on the Gold Coast, it definitely created a unique environment for collaboration and direct contact with current product users. The temperature was a perfect 30 degrees for the whole 3 days, which did make it hard to stay indoors with the amazing Surfer’s beach right outside!
However, the Viewpoint team certainly delivered with engaging talks and delicious food, often displayed in very creative ways…(they are scones on the surf board!).
After the second day of the Summit, we were treated to a fantastic poolside dinner at the Marriott. The venue was spectacular! It probably sounds like we were on a holiday rather than working, but we definitely were! We were flat-out with product demonstrations, in fact, it got so busy by the 3rd day that we were literally on our knees!
Viewpoint definitely pulled off a great Customer Summit and straight after finishing we were off to Brisbane to sponsor the Brisbane Construction 100 (C100) Workshop. The C100 is a think tank for the savviest commercial and financial minds from the top 100 Australian commercial construction companies. It provides networking and industry knowledge to members by being united with other senior commercial and financial professionals, dedicated to improving the professional standards of commercial and financial executives in construction.
On Friday the 8th of April we were lucky enough to have lunch with some the best commercial and financial professionals from the C100. The workshop had a great guest speaker, Claire Madden. Claire is a social researcher and Director of Research at the internationally recognised McCrindle. She is a TEDx speaker, media commentator and business communicator, in demand for her skill in effectively identifying the emerging trends and assisting business leaders to strategically respond to them.
It was a great day at the PwC Brisbane HQ, Claire Madden led the discussion about the changing demands and expectations of the next generation rapidly entering our industry – constant innovation and collaboration are key! She also touched on industry trends, technology, change, and innovation. It was a really informative speech with a lot of ideas that generated great discussion about how we can all prepare for the future generation of employees. The venue was superb, the food was great, the discussion was passionate and most importantly the attendees embraced the afternoon and made the event such a success.
Only one week later at we were back again for the C100, this time in Melbourne!
Once again hosted by PwC at their amazing office along the Yarra, we were excited to hear from Dominic Thurbon, who spoke at the inaugural luncheon in Sydney last year. Dominic’s speech was so well received at the Sydney Launch, there was high demand to have him back again. Dominic is an inspiring, dynamic speaker with a track record of performance at the highest level. He has spoken across Asia, Europe and the Middle East, and is also a world top-10 debater. He has built a reputation for his provocative, entertaining and high energy style that leaves audiences feeling entertained and enlightened in equal measure.
Dominic did not disappoint. He was inspiring and led the discussion about the potential to unleash collaboration and innovation. His dynamic and engaging style really helped to demystify the whole concept of technology disruption and adoption. Terms that are commonly used, but never really put into proper context.
It was a busy and educational 2 weeks. We spoke to some of the biggest and most forward-thinking people in construction and got to listen in on some really dynamic and informative talks.
