Progressclaim.com takes on the US of A

October 27, 2016 by Progressclaim Job Done

Over the past two weeks some of the Progressclaim.com team were lucky enough to head over to the Portland, Oregon for two incredible conferences.

Portland, you were amazing!

.

Over the last two weeks we exhibited at the Viewpoint User Conference and the TUG Expo, which is The Users Group for Sage customers. It was an absolutely jammed pack 2 weeks full of expert speakers, over 1000 attendees, demo upon demo, meeting upon meeting, and of course a beer or two at one of the hundreds of micro breweries that Portland had to offer.

.

We met a great mix of wonderful people in Portland, from bigger builders, through to subcontractors, project managers, contract administrators and other exhibitors that came past to visit our very blue stand.

Getting used to the US lingo proved to be a bit of a challenge; Aussies and Americans technically both speak English, but we definitely talk a different language!

Did you know:

Progress claims = Pay Apps
Retention = Retainage
Variations = Change Orders and
Stubby Holders = Koozies???

koozies

.

However, the language barrier certainly didn’t stop the influx of people who came past our stand and had to know all about Progressclaim.com.

Conferences aren’t nearly as fun unless you have cool neighbours and we were lucky enough to be surrounded by really awesome exhibitors with equally awesome software. We conducted 20-second interviews with a few of the them to see where they came from, what they did, and what they loved most about Australia! Here’s the results:

.

Earthwave Technologies

We spoke to John from Earthwave Technologies, who are leading providers of cutting-edge telematics solutions exclusively for the heavy equipment contractor. Earthwave’s sole purpose and function has been to learn the construction industry and develop the best wireless tracking solution to help heavy equipment contractors manage their equipment, projects, costs and bottom line.

BIG Technology

We spoke to the team from Business Information Group, which provides IT solutions and professional IT engineering services throughout the US. Some of their services include networking and design, wireless infrastructure design, smart grid utility design/build and technical support.

HCSS

Dan told us about how HCSS has been developing software to help construction companies streamline their operations. They have developed HeavyBid, the US industry standard in estimating software, to help contractors dramatically improve their estimating and bidding capability and increase their odds of winning profitable work.

.

A big shout out to Tradie Jocks and Richmond Football Club for supplying the goodies for our Aussie Prize Pack in the Viewpoint Raffle. Lyn from IMCO Construction was the luck winner of our prize pack, consisting of:

.

  • Tradie Jocks
  • 1 Bag of Allens Minties
  • Richmond Gurnsey
  • Richmond AFL Football
  • Peter Alexander Ugg Boots

All in all, Portland was amazing. We got to showcase our small little start-up product to all the big guns in the US, who loved what they saw. We met a phenomenal bunch of people who took us all around the city and to every micro brewery in Portland and we got to teach the Yanks about the only true Football Game there is – Aussie Rules!

"What used to take me two days, now takes me two hours. Because Progressclaim.com is online, adminstration of the monthly payment claim cycle is less time consuming and much easier to manage. No more processing everything on a spreadsheet prone to error, and the assessment can be carried out at the touch of a button."
